December 30

Sorry about the late post :).
Shelves and shelves of food
So thinking back to 4 days ago when it was actually the 30th, not the 3rd :). Well we got up as usual, cats wanting food and hanging around like bad smells :), and once we were ready, headed out for a day of shopping at IKEA, Costco and lakeside. At IKEA, I was looking for a picture frame to put my art from Prague in... There is so much stuff at IKEA!!! I don't even know what sort of shop it compares to in New Zealand, a bit like mire ten without the tools, farmers without the clothes, I don't know :). Anyway, after IKEA, we drove over to lakeside which is a huge mall, for lunch. Here we found a nice tapas restaurant, it was very busy and all the wait staff were quite flustered, but it tasted nice, so that was ok :).
Costco cakes, there are so many!
Costco cheese-huge amounts!
After wandering around for a bit, we went back to the car park and attempted to drive out and across to Costco. Only there was a problem. Because of high winds, the toll bridge was closed earlier in the day, which meant that traffic through the normally one way tunnel, had to flow both ways. This caused mayhem and the traffic was not moving from the car park. We decided to give up for a time and walk over to costco, in the hope that the traffic would have cleared by the time we got back.
I love costco, and even though we didn't actually buy much, it is so much fun just looking at the huge quantities of everything that they sell and wondering what on earth people would do with it all before it goes off :). After the shopping, we stopped in at their food place, where Andrew had a huge slice of very cheesy pepperoni pizza, Braden you would love this place!
Once we made it out, we took one look outside and it was clear that the trip home would be a very long one. In the end, it took us an hour to get out of the carpark (we were only 3 out of 4 levels up) and another 55 minutes to do the trip that normally takes only half and hour. Very frustrating, but at least we made it home :).
